Two Providores is a family run business that is wholly Australian owned and managed. Our vision for the future is to help keep Australian producers producing. We want to hitch Australia’s small, sustainable producers with like-minded chefs by sharing their stories and produce. We place particular emphasis on customer service and education about the produce and producers we are working with, and we take our responsibility of supplying premium quality produce seriously.
Our warehouse is located at Unit 2, 25 – 35 Fitzroy St, Marrickville, 2204 (entry via Saywell St). Our mailing address is PO Box 3035, Marrickville Metro, 2204.

About the Assassa family
The Assassa family have been wholesalers of local produce and dry-store products for over 45 years. In 1970, Sam Assassa had a dream to start his own smallgoods business. He converted his garage into a storage area & rolled around the eastern suburbs in his faithful Kombi delivering to his customers. His boys grew up learning from him and enjoying rides in this awesome car.
Today Adam and Kaleel have taken the business well beyond the garage but have always stayed true to their father's guiding principles of integrity and quality. Previously operating under Sydney City Foods, they made a conscious decision in 2012 to change their business strategy and focus on supporting Australian producers. With their strong logistics platform and approach to customer satisfaction already set, it just made sense to make Australian produce 'more accessible to everyone'. We made an aquisition in 2012 in order to allow them to hitch Australia's best artisan producers with the chefs they knew. It is their vision to help keep Australia's producers producing.
A hands-on CEO, Adam started delivering out of the family Kombi just after leaving school almost 24 years ago. His first day was so memorable all he wanted was a larger truck to pick up fresh produce and deliver it without having to reload, out of the garage again. Straight from the producer to store was the starting inspiration to grow and build a reputable food service business, making good food accessible to everyone. He strives on building a passionate team to help support a developing business with the utmost integrity. He is committed to running a successful, sustainable business that aids both our artisan producers, suppliers and food service customers. The constant evolution of our services, catering to the needs of both our suppliers and customers, is testament to this.
As Operations Manager Kaleel's attention is squarely on ensuring product and service integrity. He is just as likely to be found tinkering with the forklift as he is to be forecasting a purchase order. Kaleel is stringent in his management of the warehouse and oversees our Food Safety procedures and HACCP certification. He has a keen interest in the way we manage our waste and our environmental footprint and is always working to implement best practice.
Rebecca is a passionate champion of Australian artisan produce. She has a diverse background which spans cooking professionally, retail food sales and investment banking. In her role as general manager at Two Providores she strives to build a robust platform of customer and supplier service that is centred on environmentally sustainable practices, honest and informative marketing and reliable logistics.
Erica has over 25 years’ experience in the hospitality industry covering hotels, restaurants, bars and food retail. Erica is passionate about Australian produce and ensuring that quality Australian products are accessible for everyone. Outside of work Erica spends her time working in her kitchen garden and touring regional NSW meeting farmers and producers.
Customer Service Team Leader
Jeremy followed the age-old hospitality path. Starting in the sink then moving to the pans, Jeremy has been cooking in kitchens for 15 years in New Zealand, Australia, the UK, Spain and France. Upon returning to Sydney in 2012, our resident kiwi hung up his chef whites and moved into supply bringing with him a wealth of knowledge to lead our Customer Service team. Jeremy enjoys remaining in-touch with the front line of the hospitality industry while being part of the inner workings of the supply chain to make the fantastic Sydney food scene happen.
Kenny lived in France for ten years where he developed his passion for local and artisanal products. At Two Providores he enjoys meeting the producers, getting to know them and understanding their story. Sharing this knowledge with like-minded chefs and helping them to incorporate these ingredients into their menus is his raison d'etre.
With over 18 years’ experience in the food industry, Imilla has worked across many facets of the business. Her knowledge of artisan produce and her empathy and understanding of what occurs in the kitchen are two of the many reasons Imilla once lead our all-important customer service team. As a result of this experience it was a natural progression into an account management role.
Vivita spent her childhood roaming the wild forests of Latvia, foraging for seasonal treats (wild berries, nuts & mushrooms) before taking up residence in the kitchen.
After developing her love of quality produce as a chef in Latvia and the UK she decided to indulge her other passion – people - and combined these two great loves with a role in one of London’s great providores. After arrival in Sydney in 2015, Vivita sought out the best purveyors of fine foods in town (we’re flattered!) and joined our team.
Brendon is originally from Montreal, and has cooked in Canada, the US, New Zealand, France and Australia. He has a great passion for food and finding creative and cost effective solutions in menu development. He’s also one of our artisan producers, producing a range of organic white tea kombucha, called Black Radish.
Grant spent his childhood living in Morocco, Nigeria, Belgium, and France where his food & wine loving parents introduced him to the best local produce and regional cuisines unique to those countries. Grant is a former chef with an entrepreneurial spirit and has developed restaurant businesses in Sydney and the South Coast of NSW. He is equally passionate and committed to giving service and sharing his knowledge with all.
Andrew comes from the bush and moved to Sydney to study Supply Chain Management and Logistics. A part time job in a pizza shop transformed into running operations for a large QSR franchise business in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and the USA. Andrew has 7 years’ experience in operations and procurement in the QSR industry where he developed a passion for connecting product with people. He is committed to servicing our customers’ needs and requirements.
Wynton's worked in the food industry since starting at the local fruit market when I was 15. He worked in numerous kitchens in Wollongong, cooking and as a crockery hygiene technician. Wynton has spent the past 10 years servicing restaurants/cafes/delis with the best products the world has to offer. His aim to provide the best quality products so that everyone can have an amazing experience tasting the best produce available.
Amy has been a passionate marketer for the last 8 years, stretching her experience across the globe between Sydney and Edinburgh. This budding raconteur has a love of puns, creating engaging marketing material and meeting Australian producers.
